A collection of fans of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" who are supportive of M. Night Shyamalan's film "The Last Airbender"

Discussion is allowed, and opinions can be said, but no immature hatred or bashing of the movie whatsoever. And baseless comments such as 'this movie sucks' or 'this movie was bad' without giving good reasons as to why guarantees your comment an automatic hide, because comments like that are seen as trollish and unnecessarily take up space. Continuing to post comments and spamming the group's page guarantee you a block from the group. Sorry, but that's how things work for THIS group. We've had enough negativity already, we don't need anymore.

How YOU can help

As a member, we are encouraging the loyal fans to spread good publicity and help fight the 'racebending' controversy. Feel free to make groups on livejournal, wordpress, facebook, twitter, or other sites to support the film in any way imaginable. Your voice will be heard and I guarantee that when the time for the sequel comes, this fandom will hopefully overcome the protests and unite fans together. We also encourage you to alert the group whenever you see any racist content about any of the cast members (it could be artwork submitted on dA or other sites. Heck, it can also be videos with offensive content as well). And let us know if there is someone, whether boycotter or TLA-hater, commenting hateful comments anywhere in the club. And if you are a supporter of the racebending site then I would advise you to not post any negative/profane comments in this group, if you happen to drop by and visit. We TLA fans will be civil with you as long as you show us the same exact treatment.

Last Airbender(SPECIAL EDITION) Volunteer Artists?

There's still time for us to convince Paramount to correct their mistake and save the Trilogy, by letting Shyamalan release his movie the way he originally intended to (the SPECIAL EDITION, i.e. The Great Movie) and if it proves to be successful, then the anticipation of a sequel will rise again, and Shyamalan can start making the sequel immediately after he finishes "1000 AE."

But that's not the main point for this blog entry.

About the video, this campaign NEEDS to be "Promoted" on YouTube in order for it to get the recognition it needs/deserves. But we can't do that because the video is full of copyrighted imagery, so it would get removed by Viacom/Paramount.

The solution is...

We need artists (who are talented enough...and willing to help our cause) to volunteer to recreate the images in this video, almost exact replicas and allow us to make a new video with those images...The replicas can be made from Paint, or Watercolor, or Digital Art, ETC. As long as it's clear when the deviations are seen on YouTube, the images will NOT be considered photoshops.

Any volunteers? If you're not an artist who can do this, at least see if you have any friends who are interested?

Here are SOME of the images that we need recreated (more will be posted soon).
Whenever someone volunteers to recreate the image, I'll put their username next to it.

On NPR, Dev Patel reflecting on The Last Airbender [link]

    The Last Airbender follows Aang, a child tasked with stopping the Fire Nation from enslaving the Air, Earth and Water Nations. The film is based on the animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. The original story featured Asian characters, but the film adaptation featured only one Asian actor: Patel. He played Prince Zuko of the Fire Nation.

    "It made me realize that when you're doing these big films, you become really small in the process of this, you know, this big mechanical machine – this studio movie," Patel says.

    Patel says that he was a massive fan of the cartoon and also took martial arts for eight years. He points out that Prince Zuko is the villain at the beginning of the series, but he later becomes a hero and a fan favorite. And so, Patel was happy to take on the role – the "coolest role," he notes.

    CraveOnline: At what point during making The Last Airbender did you sense that a backlash was coming?

    Cliff Curtis: Oh, straight away. From the beginning. I mean, because true die hard enthusiasts of that franchise, it’s grounded in Asia and Asian culture. So straight away, the minute they went off that, people were like going, “No way!” It’s like all the different Asian cultures that made up the four elements, just straight away it was like mud slinging stuff going on.

    CraveOnline: How do you get through that as an actor?

    Cliff Curtis: As an actor you’ve got to have faith in the director’s vision, that the director has a vision for this that is greater than the critics say. So you follow their vision. Nobody knows. Honestly, everybody hopes it turns out for the best and you go along for the ride.

Also, when Viacom decided to rename "The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra", they applied for "The Legend of Korra" trademark on March 13th, 2012 but renewed "The Last Airbender" trademark on March 14th, 2012, the next day.

Did anyone notice a huge two year gap between two Nickelodeon Movies, Tintin (2011) and Ninja Turtles (2013)?

Oh, Viacom has to use "The Last Airbender" trademark before 2013-09-28 or they will lose it. Hopefully we don't have to wait that long.
