This isn't just about making artwork, it's about continuing to push the Special Edition Campaign... www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEuE0i… ...Even if we don't succeed in getting Paramount to release the Special Edition before M. Night starts making TLA2, the least we can try to accomplish with this Campaign is getting the word out that M. Night was a victim of executive-meddling and the Theatrical version is not his fault. The important goal is to not let the haters (whom never wanted his movie to be successful in the first place) get away with poisoning the whole world against an innocent director for something that wasn't his fault.
I'm not an artist, so it's up to other people in this group to help keep the movie in the DA-spotlight that it's been in recently. There's simply not enought Movie-fanart to promote the movie in a good light right now.
We need more, and artists in this group could easily get inspiration if you buy the Novelization (by Michael Teitelbaum) and the Graphic Novel (by Dave Roman), both of which are based on Shyamalan's original screenplay (before the Reshoots/Deletions) and Bryke themselves said they loved that screenplay.
The Novelization AND Graphic Novel both contain pictures/images and text, describing and showing action-sequences and character-interaction that has complexness/dimension/compellingness. Plenty of material to create artwork based on.
Buy those 2 books (the money could help the movie series) and use them to create new fanart for the movie. There are many people on this site who haven't seen the movie, and we need to use this new fanart to give them the impression that the movie is great enough to inspire such fanart.
There's also a 3rd book called TRIAL BY FIRE (by Michael Teitelbaum) which actually tells Zuko's P.O.V. throughout the movie. It had "footage" that wasn't shown in those other 2 books, so you should buy that for inspiration too.
Also a 4th book called BATTLE OF THE NORTH (by Brian James), which shows 2D illustrations of the Movieverse characters and the TLA-world's style of warfare...PLUS a screenshot of Katara looking for her necklace.
IMPORTANT: Try to make the characters look like their actors, and NOT how they look in the Graphic Novel. We need the public to think that our fanart is inspired by the actual movie (because in a way, it is)
Here are some concepts from the Novelization and Graphic Novel that need to be created for DeviantART (because there aren't any right now)
1) The Kyoshi Warriors save Sokka & Katara from Fire Nation soldiers...This was supposed to be their official introduction to the Gaang.
2) "flirtatious sparring" between Sokka and Suki...this was while they were waiting for Aang to get back from the Northern Air temple.
3) Katara looking for her necklace, eventually choosing to let it go...it gets ripped out during the fight in the Earthbenders' Prison (the scene was not supposed to fade away to the village like that)
4) Aang gets Katara's necklace back from Zuko after being saved from Zhao...Then Zuko wakes up and attacks Aang, but he escapes.
5) more examples coming soon.

Top 5 Things TLA got Wrong and Right

It’s been 5 years since Avatar: The Last Airbender Book One was adapted to the big screen. Looking back now, I still like the movie. It’s not groundbreaking like Shawshank Redemption, Jurassic Park, The Matrix, or even Lord of the Rings, but it’s NOT the absolute worst movie of all time. Unfortunately, the possibility of seeing Book Two adapted is near to impossible with so much time passed. But instead of griping over the sequel, I feel I should give a retrospective look at the movie. So I’ve decided to do top 5 lists of the things this movie got right
Who is to blame for The Last Airbender?
NOTE: My article that follows first appeared on M. Night Fans, a fansite for M. Night Shyamalan. It has been reformatted for DeviantArt. Enjoy. :D
Last Tuesday, a member of an Avatar forum, who claimed to be an on-site production crew of The Last Airbender movie, defended M.Night's actions in the movie production. Her posting quickly went viral on social media and even picked up by the likes of JoBlo and CinemaBlend. One week later, I replied to her posting to clear up some misconceptions in the ensuing discussion. While others responded positively to my points, she was upset and concerned that the increased attention to her postings co

I’ve actually gone on record a number of times saying that I don’t really think The Last Airbender is that bad a movie. The effects in it are beautiful, and it makes me sad that it could have been better. A lot better, infact. There’s a legend about a cut of the movie that is about 40 minutes longer than the theatrical cut, which itself was far superior to what the rest of us got to see.
Last week a memb
2013 End-of-Year updates
Hey guys, a couple of random updates to celebrate the year's end.:DSomeone recently started a petition for Paramount to release the sequels with M.Night directing. Please sign it and don't forget to put in your thoughts when you sign. http://www.change.org/petitions/paramount-pictures-nickelodeon-movies-blinding-edge-pictures-kennedy-marshall-company-the-please-make-the-next-two-the-last-airbender-movies-with-m-night-shyamalan-as-the-directorThe number of facebook likes for the movie is nearing 3.5 million. It hit 2.5 million earlier this year on January 9th. If it can hit 3.5 million by January 9 2014, then the page has gained 1 million like
